Why Shea?
Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer. It's rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which help soothe skin and keep it looking young and healthy.
There are two primary varieties of shea butter: Butyrospermum Parkii (West African) and Vitellaria Nilotica (East Africa, particularly in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan). We work with Butyrospermum Parkii because we warm the raw ingredients to include nutrient rich oils like Rice Bran and Grapeseed
Shea nut oil is typically extracted from the nuts through water extraction - thus its nutty scent. Shea butter has been used for centuries in traditional African medicine and on traditional remedies sold by herbalists or pharmacies. The European western world learned about Shea Butter in the 19th century.

Shea butter contains Vitamin A, which promotes healthy cell turnover by helping to regenerate new cells when damaged ones die off. It's also beneficial in helping maintain collagen production in skin cells.
