You just did something amazing: brought a new life into this world. Now, we know that your body has been through the wringer—so here are some tips to help you take care of yourself in the months after delivery so that you can be back to feeling like yourself again! Here is our 5 step routine for doing just that.
- Take it easy on yourself
This is hard, but do everything you can to slow down a little bit, rest when you can, and don't try to do everything by yourself. You've got this.
- Get out for a walk
When you're feeling up for it, go for a 20-minute walk around the block or at the park with your baby in tow. The fresh air will do you both good!
- Drink water
We know it's difficult to get enough water when your hands are full with baby duties, but try to make time every day to drink at least eight glasses of water (more if possible).
- Don't forget about your feet!
After delivering a baby, it's easy to neglect your feet because they're usually not visible in the mirror (unless you have an unusually long neck), but treat them with plenty of moisturizer and give them regular massages with a tennis ball. You can even pamper yourself with a foot scrub.
